Diverticular Disease

Diverticulosis is a condition in which small, bulging pouches develop in the digestive tract. The pouches, or diverticula, can range in size and are formed by increased pressure on weakened spots of the intestinal walls. Diverticulosis occurs in 50 percent of people over age 60, and most of those people will have no or few symptoms.
