Here are some helpful tips if you are living with GI-related symptoms.
Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day
I am sure you’ve heard this one before, but we can’t stress it enough. GI problems often lead to dehydration, which is why drinking water and replenishing is crucial.
Relieve stress and exercise
Time and time again, it is proven that there is a direct correlation between stress and physical health. Put your mind at ease, and find healthy ways to cope with stress. One way to alleviate stress is to exercise. Exercise not only relieves stress, but it also encourages normal contractions of your intestines. Be sure to discuss exercise regimens with your doctor before getting started to find an activity that fits your lifestyle.
When traveling to new places, plan ahead for digestive emergencies
Be sure to pack a “kit” with all of the essentials. Talk to you doctor and find out what kinds of medications to take or leave home, and pack up some extra water and fiber bars… and maybe some extra toilet paper for safety.
Decide on a dietary plan with your doctor and do your best to maintain
During the summer this can be very difficult to do, as summer usually involves vacations and barbecues. But, in the end, this dietary commitment can make all the difference. Make this lifestyle change.
